GET BACK TO WORK SAFELY AND WITH CONFIDENCE
Facing the continued threat of COVID-19, employers, schools, and other institutions are implementing plans to resume operations while mitigating the risk of exposure and transmission of the coronavirus. Join one of our upcoming webinar sessions and hear CDW experts deliver straight talk about how these technologies work and how to best put them to work for you.

Uncharted Learning

At a time of unprecedented social upheaval and widespread anxiety, no group feels the stress of the present moment more than our teenage students – a population that had already been experiencing increasing rates of mental health challenges even before the pandemic. As educators search for resources to help their students navigate the turmoil of the present moment, authentic experiential learning may provide a path to help adolescents develop social-emotional skills like empathy, resilience, and the ability to embrace failure that will benefit both them and broader society.

Austin-area superintendent Tom Leonard, education researcher Kristin de Vivo, and consultant and mentor Kevin Newell on June 22nd at 1pm CT, joined a discussion moderated by Anne Collier from the Net Safety Collaborative about the role of authentic, experiential learning in cultivating students’ social-emotional development. Building off our most recent report, “Learning with a Purpose: Preparing Today’s Students to Navigate an Increasingly Ambiguous Future,” the conversation  addressed the best practices for authentically engaging teens to cultivate skills like resilience, empathy, and teamwork in the classroom.  The recording is coming soon.
